We need to urge Congress to boost CSP funding to $500 million next year to meet the growing demand for public school choice, supported by polling that shows that 75% of parents would choose this option if available. An increase in charter school funding will ensure that more parents in North Carolina have the option to do so.
Despite its importance, federal funding for charter school growth has remained stagnant for the past five years. Even worse, President Biden’s proposed budget for FY 2025 slashes Charter School Program (CSP) funding by nearly 10%, endangering charter school progress.
